I like the concept of a physical message to convey that process of communication between two people, and of that message which travels through space and place between the self and the other, bridging that distance / difference and using it as a strength to build a process of active exchange and communication.

These songs are sung to people that are far away from us because they no longer are here, or have changed, or are different: singing is a way of bridging that gap. We have also changed, and it is important to me to embrace and accept that change with openness.

But the title is also a toast formula, a celebration of people that both singer and audience share a relationship with. They are songs sung to friends, but they are also sung for friends.

They are addressed to them because they originate in them too, they come from them too.
