Originally written for a band Fionn played in 6 years ago, 'For Love' is a sweet, simple song that speaks of surrendering to something and the redemptive quality of good intentions. It is the only song on the EP ‘Creatures of Habit’ that features electric guitar in combination with plucked and bowed cello, piano and the infinitely moving voice of Naarm-based artist Georgia Harvey (Yffer, Cold Hands Warm Heart, Seagull).

The stunning and understated artwork created by Naarm-based artist Grace Taylor features three vines (Kennedia rubicunda, Pandorea jasminoides and Hardenbergia violacea) native to the Meanjin area, where musician Fionn Richards lives and performs.

This song was mostly recorded in Meanjin with producer Cameron Smith of Incremental Records, aside from Georgia Harvey’s vocals, which she recorded at her home in Naarm.

Slow-burning, sax-enhanced groovy psychedelic rock with warm male vocals counterpointed by female ones ranging from the biting to the spiritual to the tribal. Makes me think of a lighter and way more transcendental version of early Goat. However, looking at the other comments, it seems that this music has got the power to bring to mind very different things to different people, and this means that there's definitely something unique and great going on. muschiosauro
